adminTaylor Swift and Travis Kelce started dating last summer, but the famous couple has yet to walk a red carpet together—and unfortunately for their fans, they will not be appearing at the Met Gala this evening.
Swift has been to the event six times; she made her debut back in 2008, wearing a golden Badgley Mischka gown, and her most recent appearance was in 2016, when she co-hosted the event in a Louis Vuitton minidress. Kelce, despite being an avid fashion fan, has never gone to a Met Gala.
He has a passion for clothes, revealing on Riggle’s Picks podcast last year, “I went to an artsy, very multicultural school and community growing up.”
“Every day at my school, there was kids showing up in the latest, newest, hottest gear and sneakers and everything, and I just naturally kind of gravitated towards having fun with what I throw on.”
Last year, Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes attended the Met Gala with his wife, Brittany. Mahomes was not in attendance this evening, but he recently spoke about the impact Swift has had on his life. “I’ve met a lot of famous people now in my life,” he said in his Time 100 cover story last month.
“Taylor’s probably the most down-to-earth person that’s been on that stage for that long.” Swift’s Eras Tour resumes in Paris this week, with four shows at the La Défense Arena in the French capital.
It remains to be seen whether or not Swift will be incorporating her newest era—The Tortured Poets Department—into the setlist.
