Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce made NFL postseason history during the Kansas City Chiefs’ 27-24 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Division Game on Sunday night.

Mahomes connected with Kelce for two touchdowns in the victory — good for the 16th time in the playoffs and the most by a quarterback-tight end duo.

It put them ahead of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, who had 15 postseason touchdowns between the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady took to social media Monday morning to salute the milestone. “BEASTS. When you one up gronk you’re doing something right,” the seven-time Super Bowl champion posted.

Mahomes called passing Brady and Gronkowski “special,” telling the Kansas City Star, “Those are two of the greatest players — and Tom is the greatest — so you appreciate that.”

Kelce’s first touchdown came on a 22-yard pass from Mahomes to put Kansas City in the lead in the second quarter. His brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, expressed his excitement for his brother by celebrating shirtless in the suite. The second touchdown pass came in the third quarter on a short, 3-yard pass.

The Chiefs are now en route to their sixth straight AFC Championship Game where the Baltimore Ravens await them. The winner moves on to Super Bowl LVIII.
