Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts had arguably the best game of his season this week against the Washington Commanders, and he is being properly honored by the league as a result.
On Wednesday afternoon, the NFL announced that Jalen Hurts had been named the NFL Player of the Week for his dominant showing against the Commanders.
“In an NFC East shootout Sunday, it was Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles who prevailed against the Washington Commanders, 38-31, with the dynamic QB leading the way. Hurts completed 76.3% of his 38 attempts for 319 yards, four touchdowns and a 135.7 rating — with no interceptions,” NFL staff writer Grant Gordon wrote as the league announced its players of the week.
It’s a fitting and very deserving award for the Philadelphia Eagles superstar quarterback, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

Under Hurts’ leadership so far this season, the Philadelphia Eagles have a 7-1 record and are among the favorites to once again make the Super Bowl.
Hurts will have a chance to build on this recent performance and keep his hot streak going this weekend when they take on the Dallas Cowboys in a showdown between NFC East division rivals.
Eagles have now won NFC Offensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks.
A.J. Brown won in Week 7 and now Jalen Hurts has won in Week 8.
