The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-1 and atop the lead, tied with several teams for the best record in the NFL. However, all of these teams, or most of them, have things they need to fix.

Their offensive woes continue for the Chiefs, and they need to fix them soon. Many people think that trading for a great wide receiver would help that.

We talked before about the red zone issues and how those are league-wide, and we have also talked about how defenses have gotten better, but the wide receiver issues still stand. The NFL trade deadline is approaching, on Halloween Day at 3 p.m. Central time, and the Chiefs need to make a move soon.

If they do, there is a trade that CBS Sports is suggesting, and it makes too much sense. Here is the trade: Chiefs get: W.R. Marquise Brown Cardinals get: 2024 third-round pick

Patrick Mahomes has yet to shift the Chiefs’ offense into high gear, even as Kansas City remains atop the AFC West at 5-1.

Part of the issue has been a scattershot receiving corps. Brown isn’t an alpha out wide, but he’s a more proven deep threat than many of K.C.’s younger options. And Arizona should be motivated to sell with “Hollywood” headed for 2024 free agency. – CBS Sports

This trade makes perfect sense; however, Brown is on a one-year deal, so if the Chiefs had bigger plans in mind, they would need to sign him to an extension.

He could be that wide receiver one for the Chiefs that can not only be a deep threat but also play over the middle and even near the sideline.

Brown is versatile, as he is fast, but has a string frame to be physical. He used to have drop issues but has seemed to get those solved a bit. The Chiefs offense would get much, much better, and it would be worth the third pick if they can resign him especially.
