The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have to be happy with how everything has been going this year. The departure of Tom Brady was rough, but the arrival of Baker Mayfield has done wonders to help keep this team afloat.
The good thing for Mayfield is that he can do something in year one that Brady never did; win a game in the best jersey in football.
The creamsicles are back. This is not a drill. Bucs fans have been waiting on this day for years. After all this time and plenty of opportunities to end the drought earlier, the Buccaneers got wise and did the obvious. The best jerseys in the history of the franchise are back.
And it sure seems like it is a missed opportunity to see this happen right after Tom Brady retires. Just imagine how great that would’ve been.
Still, the pairing of Brady and the creamsicles may not have happened, but Baker will still look great in this uniform, and a win over the Lions would look even better, especially when the GOAT was never able to do that.
The win is obviously more important than anything in this situation, but it sure does feel like a win on its face to see these jerseys back on the field. Hopefully Mayfield plays well enough to live up to the legacy of those threads. There are already some massive expectations when those come out on the field.
