Brittany Mahomes ‘Unapologetically Herself’ in New Modelling Photoshoot

Brittany Mahomes has posed for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 60th anniversary edition, with the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick announcing the photo shoot only days before the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. Mahomes, 28, posted a video of herself standing on a beach in San Pedro, Belize, with SI branding her as ‘unapologetically herself’ ahead of her debut as a 2024 rookie in their May edition.

‘I am genuinely humbled and still in disbelief,’ Mahomes told the outlet. ‘As a girl from Tyler, Texas who only understood sports, I never imagined I’d be in the SI Swimsuit Issue. I am just extremely happy for this opportunity. Mahomes has watched her fame spiral by becoming one of Taylor Swift’s ‘besties’ since the singer starting dating Travis Kelce, one of Mahomes’ teammates at the Chiefs.

The two frequently sit next to one other during Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, and they have even celebrated scores with their own handshakes. Aside from the sport that brought them together, they have frequently dined in New York, near Swift’s Manhattan residence.

Mahomes is also well-known for her work in soccer. She is also a former player from the University of Texas at Tyler, having spent time in 2017 with an Icelandic squad. She retired in 2017 and launched her own exercise brand, but she is also a part-owner and founder of the women’s NWSL team Kansas City Current, in which Patrick has an interest.

The squad is opening its own purpose-built women’s soccer stadium in March, a landmark moment. ‘These women deserve to feel important and have their own facility so that they can perform at their best,’ Mahomes said. ‘I hope this sets the bar for women’s sports everywhere and other cities continue to build around women’s sports.

Just like young boys get to dream of playing football at stadiums like Arrowhead, I want young girls everywhere to aspire to play at stadiums like CPKC.’ Mahomes broke the internet last week with a video of her asking a security guard for directions after the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens two weeks ago to get to the Super Bowl.

Some spectators criticized her demeanor and the way she spun her finger while speaking with the guard in the tunnel. People on social media accused her of being on a ‘high horse,’ but others disagreed, claiming she done nothing wrong.

Mahomes appeared to respond with a very deliberate thinly-veiled post on her Instagram story using a statement that read: ‘I take rumors as a complement. The fact that you’re bringing my name to tables I don’t sit at demonstrates your preoccupation. Stay bothered. However, for the time being, the entire Mahomes family is focused on Sunday’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas, where the Chiefs will face the 49ers.

Patrick is vying for his third Super Bowl championship, and his team is attempting to join a select group of teams that have won the trophy back-to-back.
