This weekend, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase hopes to mimic another great Cincy wideout, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. If Chase scores a touchdown this weekend against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football, he wants to mimic Ochocinco’s classic touchdown celebration by grabbing the camera.
Before doing so, however, he had one request from Ochocinco himself. “Chad, if I score a touchdown and grab the camera like you did, I need you to pay for the fine for me. That’s my only ask,” via Kelsey Conway.

Ochocinco replied on X. “Say less I’ll pay the fine.”
Johnson is responsible for some of the NFL’s most memorable touchdown celebrations. In addition to seizing the camera, he famously donned a Hall of Fame gold jacket, “proposed” to a cheerleader, performed CPR on a football, and performed the Irish River dance.
Aside from his celebrations, Chase and the Bengals would benefit from following in Johnson’s footsteps via his performance. Ochocinco holds the Bengals franchise record for career receptions, yards, touchdowns, and 100-yard games with 751 catches for 10,783 yards and 66 touchdowns.
Chase is the Benfal with the best chance of catching those marks down the road. Chase has 228 catches for 3,157 yards and 26 touchdowns in two and a half seasons. He has 60 catches for 656 yards and four touchdowns this season and is coming off a 10-reception, 100-yard, one-touchdown performance against the San Francisco 49ers. Most significantly, he celebrated the touchdown with a backflip, much like Ochocinco.
