Andy Reid Makes His Opinion On Taylor Swift's Parents Very Clear

Like the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs, Andy Reid had to get used to the extra attention the team received last season.

Once Travis Kelce began his relationship with Taylor Swift, the amount of coverage the team got increased tenfold. Most of the attention was on Kelce and Swift and their families, a point that was not lost on head coach Andy Reid.

Reid has been vocally supportive of the Kelce-Swift relationship, and after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl a few weeks ago, the head coach says he never considered the relationship a distraction or anything negative. “I was just happy that they were both happy.”

“Trav never let it be an issue, she never made it an issue,” Reid said in an appearance on Fecoe in the Morning, part of Audacy’s 610 Sports Radio.

Reid also revealed that he actually knew the Swift family before his star tight end did. “I actually knew her and her family before Trav did,” Reid said.

“They’re from Pennsylvania, and her dad was an Eagles fan – a football fan, really – I believe he played at Delaware, so he gets the game. He understands. And she’s got a great mom, and they’re very close that way. I met her when she was young, I never worried that she wouldn’t handle it.”

Reid joked that Kelce was worried when he told him he already knew Swift and her family, but that everything turned out great in the end.

With the Chiefs winning a third Super Bowl in five years, it’s hard to argue with Reid’s assessment.
